Club Christmas Handicap Results
A good turnout across the age groups on a mild but blustery morning on Saturday 19th saw Simon Gold win the 4k and Bob Burt's whole salmon, with Ruth Kelly wining the youngsters short course. Special mention to Justin and Dan who had placed 1st and 3rd at the tollcross parkrun a couple of hours before and still posted great times. West District Cross Country Champs, 6th Dec. Bellahouston Park
Well done to all who competed on Sunday in very muddy conditions. There were many excellent performances. Congratulations to Kyle who front ran from the start to an emphatic victory in the senior men's race. His performance was all the more creditable as he had completed a 14 hour shift the day before as a junior doctor at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. With good packing from Stuart 7th, Robert 8th, Kenny 11th, Kerry-Liam 13th and Iain R 14th the club took 2nd team behind Shettleston. The M40+ quartet of Kenny Campbell, Frank McGowan, Kerry-Liam Wilson and Jamie Reid and the M50+ trio of Chris Upson, Paul Thompson and Colin Feechan were worthy winners at the Scottish Cross Country Relay Champs at Cumbernauld on Saturday 24th October. With Jamie, Kerry-Liam and Kenny recording the 3 fastest masters’ times and Frank 6th fastest it was not surprising that this was the club’s 5th consecutive victory in this national championship. Also thanks to Colin, Chris and Paul recording the 2nd, 3rd and 10th fastest times in their age group the M50+s regained their age group title. Indeed, the […]

The club fielded an M35 6-man team and a 3-man M55 team along with an incomplete over M35 B team at the British Masters Road Relays at Sutton Park, Birmingham on Saturday 16th May. The long journey was made worthwhile as the M55 trio won team gold and the M35 sextet team silver. The M55 race kicked off first with Paul Thompson on the opening leg. Paul was nervous considering he had had a bad experience last year when he was forced to stop and withdraw from the race on the final leg due to being unwell. On top of […]
