Cambuslang Harriers, since its formation in 1948, has become one of the premier cross country and road running clubs across all age groups in Scotland. We also have a very talented girls and ladies group who now regularly win major team honours.
Following a review, it appears that the club retained the AT Mays Trophy at the National Cross County Championships in Falkirk. This trophy is awarded to the best male club across the 5 different age groups at the Scottish XC Champs.
Originally we tied with Central AC but lost to them on the tie break which is the relative position of the 2 clubs in the senior men's race. However, a mistake in calculating the results was made on the day which wrongly awarded the trophy to Central. Well done, therefore, to our junior boys, junior men and senior men who were 4th team, to our youths who were 8th and to our senior boys who were 2nd. Your team places retained this prestigious award for the club.
The club has won this trophy for the 4th year in a row and overall on 20 of the 27 occasions since it was introduced. It is a tremendous achievement to have been so consistently successful over such a long period. A big thanks is due to our athletes, coaches, officials, parents and supporters. Well done.
