Cambuslang Harriers, since its formation in 1948, has become one of the premier cross country and road running clubs across all age groups in Scotland. We also have a very talented girls and ladies group who now regularly win major team honours.
I hope everyone is continuing to keep safe and well. I know these are really unsettling times for all of us so it is even more important that we look after our wellbeing and fitness. As from today in Scotland we can now exercise twice per day so come on all juniors and seniors let’s see you up your game!
Keeping connected is the club theme at present and history was made this week when the committee met online using Zoom.
To keep us all in touch we are planning a series of on line info chats on wellbeing, exercise and of course running.
The first of these will begin on Tuesday 12th May and will be led by El capitano, Iain Reid who will give a talk on strength and conditioning and improving performance. Details are on the club’s Facebook and Google Group pages. Iain will also repeat this on Thursday.
We are also looking at ways of encouraging our junior athletes to keep active.
We are also planning to encourage all those out running to join the club and I will let you know more next week.
Watch this space for an upate on what the committee and coaches are planning.
It was great to see the participation of so many in red and white in the virtual mile this weekend and we watch the results with interest.
Finally, I am sure you will join me in extending our best wishes to David Cooney who is recovering well from a wee health scare and to offer our congratulations to Tony McCutcheon on qualifying as a sport and remedial therapist.
Take care and stay safe
