Cambuslang Harriers, since its formation in 1948, has become one of the premier cross country and road running clubs across all age groups in Scotland. We also have a very talented girls and ladies group who now regularly win major team honours.
Ronhill Cambuslang Harriers will be hosting a running seminar open to all clubs on Preparation for the Cross Country Season and Peaking for your Target Race. The two guest speakers are Freya Ross and Mark Pollard with Mike Johnston chairing and there will be the opportunity to ask questions. Freya is a multi Scottish Champion on country, road and track, GB Internationalist and a Commonwealth, European and Olympic Representative. Another reminder to all club members that the club’s AGM will be held at 8.00pm after training on Tuesday 9 October 2012. ALL MEMBERS across the age groups are invited to attend. It is YOUR club, so please make the effort to attend. New committee members are always welcome, the addition of young athletes to the committee in the last year has been particularly welcomed. Ronhill Cambuslang Harriers hosted a well attended running seminar on Friday evening at the Cambuslang Rugby and Sports Club. The main speaker was Ron Hill, a former triple Olympian, world record holder on road and track and European and Commonwealth Games Marathon Gold Medallist. Ron who is just a few weeks short of his 74th birthday has not missed a single day’s training since December 1964 which is an amazing record. These races are run on accurate 10k and 3k routes. The 10k race is an out and back flat, fast and traffic free route along the River Clyde walkway. We cater for runners of all abilities and offer regular training sessions based from our clubhouse in Cambuslang, we also have regular training on the track at the John Wright Sport Centre in East Kilbride, why not come along and join us?
