  • Who are Cambuslang Harriers?

Cambuslang Harriers, since its formation in 1948, has become one of the premier cross country and road running clubs across all age groups in Scotland. We also have a very talented girls and ladies group who now regularly win major team honours.

British & Irish Masters XC in Belfast

Seven club members represented the Scottish Vets at this annual international XC race on Saturday, this year the venue was in Belfast over a muddy course at Queens University grounds.

All of our 7 athletes acquitted themselves well and were all counting members for their respective Scottish age group teams, ranging from M35’s to M50’s, with Johnny MacNamara (M35), Kerry Wilson (M40) and Charlie Thomson (M45) being first counters for their country. Greg Hastie and Kenny MacPherson backed up Kerry in the M40 race, whilst Iain Campbell and Colin Feechan competed in the M50 category.
Best individual performances from the club were from Kerry and Charlie who both finished 5th in their respective age groups. With 7 runners, the club had the highest representation of any individual Scottish club and with top competition and great camaraderie they will be aiming for selection again next year alongside some more club veterans.
