Our junior section caters for young athletes aged 9 and above with our main training nights being Tuesday and Thursday. Club sessions are from the club house and start at 7pm sharp. Additional training sessions are available depending on current levels of fitness and athlete progression.
Initially new club members will join our induction groups to allow an assessment of their ability to take place, which will then inform which group they would be best suited to train with. More experienced runners should highlight their times and experience to our senior coach and may start in our intermediate groups for initial assessment. Our training groups are spilt into three main categories – depending on age, capability and development needs.
• Induction and recreational groups – coached by Pamela Stephen and David Stirling
• Intermediate groups – coached by Simon Gold, Iain Crawford and Lynn Angely
• Senior groups – coached by Colin Stephen and Dale Woods

A clear training schedule is set out for our young athletes, with coaches regularly reviewing these plans and tailoring to the individual athlete to aid their personal development.
