Cambuslang Harriers, since its formation in 1948, has become one of the premier cross country and road running clubs across all age groups in Scotland. We also have a very talented girls and ladies group who now regularly win major team honours.
Cambuslang Harriers Men and Women enjoy a field day at the West District Cross Country Relay Championships
Junior, senior and masters athletes of Cambuslang Harriers travelled to Kilmarnock to participate in the West District Cross Country Relays on Saturday 12th October. Senior and masters men teams comprised of 4 runners, 3 for their female counterparts and 3 athletes, one under 13, 15 and 17, were required for the young male and female teams. A Busy Weekend For Cambuslang Harriers
The main domestic event of the weekend was the Great Scottish Run which offered 2 races namely at 10K and the Half Marathon. The Half Marathon incorporated the Scottish Championships and the Cambuslang Harriers trio of Stewart Gibson, Fraser Stewart and Kevan Harvey packed well to take the bronze medals behind Shettleston Harriers and Fife AC. Only 31 seconds separated the 3 sub 70 minutes Cambuslang athletes with Stuart (69.08) only 5 seconds outside his pb, Fraser’s time of 69.39 was a 46 seconds pb and Kevan on the same time made an impressive debut at this distance.
